Southern Flow was contracted by Haskell to provide SCADA integration and instrumentation for the St. Petersburg, FL SWWRF plant upgrades. The plant was being upgraded to allow production of Class AA biosolids and integrate new dual fuel generators to offset power consumption at the plant.

SFI provided four new PLC control panels with a mixture of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs and made modifications to numerous other panels to incorporate new equipment. All new PLCs were required to integrate into the existing SCADA network and interface with the existing Archestra System Platform HMI application. Over 3,000 tags were added to the Archestra application and new graphic pages were created to match the existing owner standards.

There were a number of vendor processes and control panels as well as smart MCCs on the project and SFI was responsible for coordinating Ethernet/IP communications and messaging registers.

SFI provided a large quantity of instrumentation including magmeters, thermal mass flow sensors, ultrasonic and radar level transmitters, combustible gas detectors, analytical instruments, and pressure instruments. All instruments were calibrated and configured by SFI field engineers and record documents were generated.
